Have discussed with elearning Co the benefits of using the Blooms Digital Taxonomy - HOTS-LOTS for a part of a ICT Staff Development Day. Australian School Library Association NSW [ASLA] has published a great mind map of Blooms linked to web 2.0 tools.

Module 9

I have the least experience with Social networks. Not sure I will get into this whole thing but good to know why and how they can be useful.

Module 8

I have been using RSS feeds for a while. They cut down on search time and remind you to read up and check the latest information as soon as they come in or when convenient.

Module 7

Delicious would be great for a department of teachers from the same KLA where we all share usable sites for particular topics of work. Nutrition websites that provide information or that allow students to enter information and interact with numbers kilojoule counts etc.

Module 6

Bubble us is fabulous for a quick activity in the classroom, individual, pair of group. Quick and easy to use. Wonderful for the visual learners and a great idea to reinforce for use to make study notes for students.

Glogster will need a little more time to master and work towards a final product. A good tool for creating a collage of information on a particular topic. PDHPE could easily use this for drug use topics whereby students put together a range of information on types, reason for, short and long term effects of drugs.

Module 5

I have used podcasts and movie maker before. Our unit on drugs was taught through the researching and making of a 30 second advertisement that focused on a target audience and a particular angle of drug education of the students choosing. Great way for kids to learn through digital media. They loved it.

Module 4

Experience with Flickr before. Had a look at creative commons more carefully to have a look at availability of certain free photos without copyright issues.

Module 3

Working with google docs today. Great collaboration tool for classes. I skipped making a document and went straight to making a form. I put together an evaluation form for my year 11 PDHPE students for the Bundeena to Otford 2 day hike we did together last week. Wonderful that they can do this at home and the results will be collated for me.

Module 2

Again I got a quick intro to setting up an iGoogle page which is much more interesting and useful as a home page than mydesktop or goole.com.

The ease with which you can customise your page and add property boxes of interest is great still with the quick accessto google search.

Module 1

Just started setting things up with the help of my friend thomo. Looking forward to creating something more substantial.
